The North Carolina Coastal Resources Commission (CRC) is a regulatory body established in 1974 under the Coastal Area Management Act (CAMA) to oversee the use and development of coastal resources in North Carolina.[1][2][3] The commission is responsible for adopting regulations, designating Areas of Environmental Concern (AECs), and providing oversight of coastal development.[4][5] It works in coordination with the Division of Coastal Management[6] to implement coastal policies and manage land and resource use within the state’s coastal zone.[7][8]
