The European Council on Refugees and Exiles (ECRE) is an alliance of 128 NGOs across 40 European countries established in 1974.[1] ECRE’s mission is to protect and advance the rights of refugees, asylum seekers, and other forcibly displaced persons in Europe and in Europe’s external policies.[2]
History
The European Council on Refugees and Exiles (ECRE) is an alliance of 128 NGOs across 40 European countries established in 1974.[3] ECRE also has international partnerships with organisations not based in Europe.[3]
It has developed and continues to manage the Asylum Information Database (AIDA), the European Database of Asylum Law (EDAL) and the European Legal Network on Asylum (ELENA).[1]
