Bridge End is a suburb[1] of Leek in the Staffordshire Moorlands district of the county of Staffordshire, England.[2]
History
Bridge End grew around both the River Churnet and Leek itself, following the industrial revolution. A dyeworks opened in the area[3] and had links to the now-closed Churnet Valley line between Leek and Macclesfield.[4]
After closure of the works and the railway line. The area has since developed into a residential and industrial area of Leek.
Amenities
The area is locally known for "Bridge End Garden Centre", which is located on the A523 road.[5]
Leek F.C. also play at Harrison Park community stadium, which is in the area.[6] There is also a large retail park called "Churnet Park".[7]
Landmarks
The Brindley Water Mill is located close Bridge End.[8]
