The 2023–24 Texas A&M–Corpus Christi Islanders men's basketball team represented Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi in the 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's basketball season as members of the Southland Conference. The Islanders were led by first-year head coach Jim Shaw. With the exception of four games at the Dugan Wellness Center, all home games were played at American Bank Center. Both arenas are located in Corpus Christi, Texas.

The Islanders finished the season 21–12, 14–4 in Southland play, to finish in second place.[1] They were defeated by Nicholls in the semifinals of the Southland tournament.[2] They received an invitation to the CIT,[3] where they fell to Abilene Christian in the first round.[4]

Previous season

The Islanders finished the season 24–11, 14–4 in Southland play,[5] to win the regular-season championship. They defeated McNeese[6] and Northwestern State to win the Southland tournament for the second consecutive year.[7] As a result, they received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, as a No. 16 seed in the South region. In the First Four, they defeated Southeast Missouri State[8] before losing to overall No. 1 seed Alabama in the first round.[9]

Southland Conference poll

The Southland Conference released its preseason poll on October 10, 2023. Receiving 124 votes overall and five first-place votes, the Islanders were picked to finish fourth in the conference.[10]
